Opsun Corp., a Quebec City-based manufacturer of structures for solar panels, has announced plans to build its first U.S. production facility in High Point, North Carolina, with an investment of $9.3 million. The new facility will create 20 jobs and is set to become the company’s third manufacturing site.
This expansion aims to increase efficiency, add more warehouse space, and significantly grow the company’s footprint, tripling the size of its current operations. The move aligns with Opsun’s strategy to reinforce its commitment to producing domestically made, high-performance solar mounting systems sourced entirely from North America.
François Gilles-Gagnon, President of Opsun, commented, “Opsun always sourced all components in North America, and this new U.S. facility reinforces our commitment to domestically made, high-performance solar mounting systems.”
The new facility in High Point, North Carolina, will serve as a crucial part of Opsun’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in the growing U.S. solar energy market, enhancing the company’s ability to meet rising demand while supporting local job creation and production capabilities.
