Moglix, one of Asia’s foremost B2B e-commerce and supply chain technology firms, has officially entered the energy and infrastructure materials segment with the launch of a state-of-the-art bitumen production facility under its manufacturing arm, DRG Industries. Located in Kosi Kalan, Mathura, the greenfield plant is set to begin commercial operations in July 2025, marking Moglix’s strategic expansion into the sustainable construction materials space.
The initiative aligns with India’s infrastructure development goals, especially in road construction—an area that plays a pivotal role in the country’s ambition of becoming a developed economy. As the nation with the world’s second-largest road network, India faces the dual challenge of scaling its infrastructure while enhancing road durability, safety, and sustainability.
Recognizing road safety as a national priority, Moglix is addressing the need for high-performance, long-lasting construction materials. The new plant will manufacture advanced bitumen solutions including polymer-modified bitumen, microsurfacing emulsions, and hard binders—materials designed to extend pavement life, reduce maintenance, and lower carbon emissions.
A standout offering is microsurfacing, a globally recognized technique that seals cracks, improves road grip, and enhances surface durability. Compared to traditional methods, microsurfacing can double the life of road surfaces while reducing carbon emissions by nearly 50%. Moglix is also investing in domestic R&D to tailor these solutions for India’s diverse geography, traffic patterns, and climate conditions.
Speaking on the development, Rahul Garg, Founder and CEO of Moglix, stated that roads are the backbone of India’s development, and reinforcing them with sustainable, high-quality materials is vital. He noted that through DRG Industries, Moglix is committed to building infrastructure that is long-lasting, high-performing, and environmentally responsible.
Spread over 3.5 acres, the facility is equipped with Denimotech mills, automated processing lines, and a dedicated R&D center, and has a monthly processing capacity of over 28,000 metric tons. The plant also features biomass-fueled, carbon-neutral boilers with scrubber and filtration systems, ensuring eco-friendly production processes aligned with Moglix’s sustainability goals.
Strategically located, the new facility is poised to serve northern and central India, while also tapping into export opportunities in neighboring markets like Nepal. Beyond its product offerings, the plant is expected to generate local employment and bolster regional supply chains by collaborating with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and local contractors.
With this launch, Moglix not only strengthens its role in India’s infrastructure growth story but also reinforces its ability to build scalable, sustainable industrial capabilities. The company plans to further expand its footprint in bitumen manufacturing across India, marking a new chapter in its journey toward enabling a more connected, durable, and sustainable India.
