Mitsubishi has introduced the MV4800-ST wire EDM, designed for large-part applications, including submerged machining up to 32 inches. This feature makes it ideal for industries such as aerospace and energy that require precise, high-performance machining for large components. The MV4800-ST incorporates a range of advanced technologies to enhance both productivity and machining accuracy.
Key features of the MV4800-ST include Mitsubishi’s advanced thermal stability system, automatic fluid-level control, and an ergonomic design, all aimed at optimizing machine performance and operator comfort. The machine is equipped with Mitsubishi’s auto-threading system, allowing for efficient and reliable threading during operations. The user-friendly Mitsubishi CNC control is complemented by a large 19-inch touchscreen, making operation intuitive and easy to monitor.
The machine is notably large, standing over 11 feet tall and more than 11 feet wide, with new Mitsubishi Electric technology incorporated into its design. The stainless steel work tank features a newly designed self-cleaning stainless steel seal plate, and the plate movement-transfer mechanism ensures smooth and reliable performance. Additionally, the MV4800-ST’s three-level corner master control increases precision during rough and skim cutting, while the enhanced edge positioning system improves both edge and center pickup positions.
The machine’s new finish control system helps reduce lines and fine steps, improving part straightness. To further boost productivity, two new pulse-control technologies have been added to shorten machining time and improve the machining of low-conductivity materials. To support customers, Mitsubishi offers two years of remote360 machine monitoring, providing real-time data that helps optimize machine efficiency and productivity.
