Michelin Expands North India Retail Network with New Premium Tyre and Service Centres
Michelin has strengthened its presence in North India with the opening of two new Michelin Tyres & Services (MTS) outlets in Amritsar, Punjab, and Panchkula, Haryana, further expanding its premium retail network in one of the country’s fastest-growing automotive markets. Established in partnership with National Auto and Universal Tyres, the new centres are designed to provide customers with a comprehensive range of premium tyres and professional automotive services under one roof. The expansion reflects Michelin’s continued commitment to enhancing customer accessibility while supporting the growing demand for high-quality mobility solutions across India.
The newly inaugurated outlets are strategically located on Loharka Road in Amritsar and in the Industrial Area of Panchkula, with each facility spanning approximately 5,000 square feet. Designed as modern automotive service centres, the stores offer customers a complete ownership experience by combining Michelin’s globally recognised tyre technology with professional vehicle maintenance and after-sales services. The expansion enables customers in North India to access Michelin’s products and services more conveniently while benefiting from a consistent, high-quality retail experience.
Both facilities stock Michelin’s premium range of passenger car and two-wheeler tyres, including well-known product families such as Primacy, Pilot Sport, Latitude Sport, and LTX Trail. These tyre ranges cater to a variety of vehicle categories and driving requirements, offering enhanced safety, durability, handling performance and driving comfort. In addition to tyre sales, the service centres provide wheel alignment, wheel balancing, mechanical repairs and routine vehicle maintenance, allowing customers to address multiple automotive needs through a single service destination.
The expansion has been made possible through collaborations with two well-established regional automotive businesses. National Auto, Michelin’s partner in Amritsar, has served customers since 1927 and has built a strong reputation in the region’s automotive industry over nearly a century of operations. Universal Tyres, which operates the Panchkula outlet, brings more than 30 years of experience in automotive retail and customer service. By combining Michelin’s global expertise with the local knowledge and customer relationships of its retail partners, the company aims to deliver a premium ownership experience tailored to the needs of Indian motorists.
Commenting on the expansion, Shantanu Deshpande, Managing Director of Michelin India, said North India continues to play a vital role in the company’s long-term growth strategy. He noted that increasing vehicle ownership, improving road infrastructure and growing consumer demand for premium mobility solutions are creating significant opportunities for Michelin to expand its retail presence across the region. Deshpande added that the launch of the new Michelin Tyres & Services stores represents another important step in bringing Michelin’s globally benchmarked products and customer-focused services closer to consumers. He also highlighted the company’s plans to introduce Made-in-India passenger car tyres, reinforcing Michelin’s commitment to developing products specifically suited to the requirements of Indian customers.
The expansion comes at a time when India’s automotive sector is experiencing sustained growth, supported by rising disposable incomes, improved highway infrastructure and increasing consumer preference for premium vehicles and high-performance automotive products. As customers place greater emphasis on safety, reliability and long-term vehicle performance, professionally managed tyre and service centres are becoming increasingly important in delivering quality maintenance and expert technical support.
By strengthening its retail footprint in North India, Michelin is reinforcing its long-term commitment to the Indian market while expanding customer access to world-class tyre technology and automotive services. The new outlets in Amritsar and Panchkula further enhance the company’s nationwide distribution network and position Michelin to better serve the evolving mobility needs of Indian consumers through premium products, trusted service and a customer-centric retail experience.
