Ashok Leyland Partners with Rosmerta Recycling to Promote Sustainable Commercial Vehicle Scrappage!
Ashok Leyland has entered into a strategic partnership with Rosmerta Recycling to establish a streamlined and environmentally responsible commercial vehicle scrappage ecosystem across India. The collaboration aims to simplify the disposal of end-of-life commercial vehicles while encouraging fleet owners to upgrade to cleaner, more fuel-efficient BS-VI and future-ready vehicles. The initiative supports India’s broader vision of sustainable mobility, circular economy practices and reduced vehicular emissions by providing customers with an organised, transparent and government-compliant vehicle recycling process.
Under the partnership, Ashok Leyland will leverage its extensive nationwide dealer network to connect commercial vehicle owners with Rosmerta Recycling’s Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSFs). Rosmerta is one of India’s leading authorised vehicle recycling companies and operates multiple certified scrappage centres equipped to dismantle end-of-life vehicles using scientifically approved processes. These facilities are designed to maximise material recovery while ensuring environmentally responsible disposal of automotive components in accordance with government regulations.
The collaboration aligns closely with the Government of India’s Voluntary Vehicle Modernisation Program, which encourages the replacement of older, high-emission vehicles with cleaner and more efficient alternatives. It also complements the recently introduced Naya Safar Scheme, which aims to reduce transport-related emissions across the Delhi-NCR region by accelerating the replacement of ageing commercial vehicles.
