Hical Technologies has announced the groundbreaking of a new 160,000-square-foot aerospace manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, marking a significant expansion of its capabilities in precision engineering and aerospace manufacturing. The new facility is designed to strengthen the company’s position as a trusted supplier to global aerospace and defence original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) while supporting India’s emergence as a key destination for high-value aerospace production. The investment reflects the growing confidence of international customers in India’s manufacturing ecosystem and reinforces Hical’s long-term strategy of expanding its footprint in the global aerospace supply chain.

The Hosur facility will be dedicated to aerospace-qualified precision machining, fabrication and special process capabilities, enabling Hical Technologies to manufacture complex, high-precision components for international aerospace programmes. The new plant will complement the company’s existing electromechanical manufacturing operations and provide additional capacity to meet increasing global demand for reliable and high-quality aerospace manufacturing partners based in India. As aerospace manufacturers continue to diversify their supply chains, facilities such as the new Hosur plant are expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting global production requirements.

The company plans to equip the new manufacturing centre with advanced production technologies and automation systems to ensure world-class manufacturing standards. Planned investments include modern precision machining equipment, digital manufacturing solutions, automation technologies and advanced production processes that will improve operational efficiency, product quality and manufacturing flexibility. The facility will also focus on developing specialised aerospace manufacturing skills while incorporating sustainable manufacturing practices that align with evolving industry expectations.

An important objective of the project is to achieve internationally recognised aerospace certifications, including NADCAP accreditation and other industry qualifications required by global aerospace customers. These certifications are essential for manufacturers supplying critical components to commercial aviation, defence and space programmes, as they validate compliance with stringent quality, process and performance standards. Achieving these certifications will further strengthen Hical Technologies’ ability to participate in high-value international aerospace projects and expand its presence in global supply chains.

Commenting on the project, Yashas Jaiveer, Managing Director of Hical Technologies, said the groundbreaking of the Hosur facility marks a significant milestone in the company’s four-decade journey. He noted that global aerospace manufacturers are increasingly recognising India’s capability to deliver complex, high-precision engineering solutions that meet international quality standards. According to Jaiveer, the company’s investments in advanced manufacturing technologies, automation and aerospace qualifications will strengthen its capabilities while contributing to India’s growing role as a global aerospace manufacturing hub.

The choice of Hosur as the location for the new facility further highlights the region’s growing importance within India’s aerospace and precision engineering landscape. Located in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu near the Karnataka border, Hosur has developed into a major manufacturing centre due to its strategic proximity to Bengaluru, one of India’s leading aerospace and defence clusters. The region benefits from well-developed industrial infrastructure, excellent connectivity and access to a highly skilled engineering workforce, making it an attractive destination for advanced manufacturing investments.

The establishment of the new aerospace facility also aligns with the broader expansion of India’s aerospace manufacturing ecosystem, which continues to attract investments from both domestic and international companies. Increasing demand for supply chain diversification, combined with India’s strong engineering capabilities and supportive industrial policies, has positioned the country as an increasingly important manufacturing base for global aerospace programmes.

With the new Hosur facility, Hical Technologies is strengthening its ability to deliver precision-engineered aerospace components that meet the demanding requirements of international OEMs. The investment enhances the company’s manufacturing capacity, expands its advanced engineering capabilities and reinforces its commitment to innovation, quality and operational excellence. As the facility progresses toward full operation, it is expected to contribute significantly to both Hical’s future growth and India’s expanding role in the global aerospace and defence manufacturing industry.
