Mazak to Showcase Advanced Manufacturing and Automation Technologies at Florida Open House

Thursday 15 January 2026, 9:53:05 AM

Mazak Corporation will host a two-day Florida Open House on February 18–19 at its Mazak Technical Center in Orlando, highlighting the latest machine tool and automation technologies for high-value manufacturing sectors such as aerospace, medical, space exploration, defense, marine defense, and other precision-driven industries. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on both days and is designed to give manufacturers hands-on exposure to real-world machining solutions supported by expert technical guidance.

The open house will feature live machine demonstrations, real part processing, and direct access to Mazak’s applications engineers, allowing visitors to discuss manufacturing challenges, automation strategies, and process optimization in detail. By focusing on practical, production-ready solutions, Mazak aims to demonstrate how advanced multitasking, five-axis machining, and Swiss-style turning can improve productivity, accuracy, and flexibility across a range of applications.

A key highlight of the event will be the live demonstration of the QTE-100MY Multi-Tasking Machine, equipped with bar feeder automation. Designed for both turning and milling operations, the QTE-100MY features milling capability (M) and Y-axis off-centerline machining (Y), enabling complex parts to be completed in a single setup. The machine is fitted with an integral turning spindle capable of speeds up to 6,000 rpm, supports part diameters up to 13.39 inches (340 mm), and offers a 2-inch (50.8 mm) bar capacity. Its rotary tool turret spindle further expands functionality with a 4,500-rpm, 7.38 hp (5.5 kW) milling spindle and a 12-tool capacity, making it suitable for high-mix, high-precision component production.

Also on display will be the VARIAXIS C-600 Vertical Machining Center, positioned as a practical entry point into full five-axis machining for many shops. The machine enables multi-surface and simultaneous five-axis machining, reducing setups and improving geometric accuracy. Mazak offers multiple spindle configurations for the VARIAXIS C-600, including options up to 20,000 rpm in CAT40, Big Plus, or HSK A-63 formats. The standard 12,000-rpm spindle provides a strong balance of speed, power, and torque, making it well suited for machining steel, cast iron, and aluminum. Tool magazine options range from 30 to 120 tools, including random-access systems that minimize tool change wait times—an advantage for short cycle and high-mix production environments.

For manufacturers producing large volumes of small, ultra-high-precision parts, Mazak will also demonstrate the SYNCREX 12/8 Swiss-style Production Turning machine. This eight-axis machine supports a maximum bar diameter of 0.4724 inches (12 mm) and accommodates up to 27 tools, including both static and live tooling. Equipped with the MAZATROL SmoothSt CNC, the SYNCREX 12/8 incorporates features such as Swiss Setup Assist (MSSA) for faster job setup and Mazak Dynamic Chip Control (MDCC) for improved chip management. The control enables full axis synchronization, allowing simultaneous turning, drilling, and rigid tapping across all spindles.

Through this Florida Open House, Mazak aims to provide manufacturers with a clear view of how advanced CNC technology, automation, and intelligent controls can be applied to real production challenges. The event underscores Mazak’s commitment to supporting manufacturers with practical solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce setup time, and enable competitive, high-precision manufacturing across demanding industries.
