
Mazak Raises the Bar in Multitasking with the Integrex i-350S Neo

Mazak Corp. has once again pushed the boundaries of multitasking machine technology with the launch of its Integrex i-350S Neo, a next-generation machining solution that blends turning, milling, and, for the first time, grinding capabilities into a single, highly versatile platform. Built on Mazak’s renowned “Done-in-One” concept, this new machine is designed to deliver unprecedented precision, efficiency, and automation readiness for a wide range of manufacturing environments.
The Integrex i-350S Neo demonstrates Mazak’s commitment to creating machines that not only reduce setup times but also minimize process steps. By integrating grinding alongside turning and milling, manufacturers can now complete complex parts with exceptional surface finishes and tighter tolerances without moving them between machines. This integration enhances part quality, eliminates secondary operations, and significantly boosts throughput. At the same time, the machine benefits from improved thermal stability, ensuring consistent accuracy across long production runs.
Versatility is at the core of the i-350S Neo. It features both a main and secondary turning spindle, giving shops greater flexibility in handling complex geometries. The main spindle accommodates a 10-inch chuck and provides a generous Y-axis stroke of 12 inches and an X-axis stroke of 27 inches, supporting maximum part diameters up to 26.38 inches. Both spindles operate at 4,000 rpm, enabling high-performance cutting, while the milling spindle comes standard with a 12,000 rpm speed and is optionally available at 20,000 rpm. With a 1500 U-style bed, the machine can process parts up to nearly 60 inches long, and with a 2500 U-style bed, up to almost 98 inches, covering a wide spectrum of production demands.
Automation integration is another key advantage. The i-350S Neo offers multiple tool magazine configurations, including ergonomic front-mounted designs for seamless compatibility with bar feeders, gantry loaders, and unloaders, as well as rear-mounted options for shops employing floor-mounted robots. Optional automatic doors and retrofittable robot interfaces further enhance flexibility, making the machine a future-proof investment for manufacturers pursuing automation-driven growth.
At the heart of this new machine is Mazak’s latest Mazatrol SmoothAi CNC control. This AI-driven platform empowers shops with simplified programming, adaptive learning, and real-time process optimization. Intelligent features such as Solid Mazatrol automatically generate programs from 3D part models, while Smooth Ai Spindle technology adjusts spindle speed based on sensor feedback to suppress vibration and improve surface quality. Another standout function, Ai Thermal Shield, adapts to environmental changes and thermal effects, safeguarding machining accuracy during long runs.
The Integrex i-350S Neo also supports Mazak’s digital manufacturing vision through its Mazatrol Twins software, which enables synchronized digital twins of machines on the shop floor. By providing a virtual environment for setup, simulation, and optimization, features like Smooth Project Manager and Smooth CAM Ai improve job preparation, reduce downtime, and create a seamless link between CAD/CAM systems and machine execution.
