MathWorks Automotive Conference Highlights Key Innovations in SDVs, Electrification, and AI!

The MathWorks Automotive Conference 2024 held in Pune brought together over 700 professionals, engineers, and industry leaders to delve into the latest advancements and challenges in the automotive industry. Focused on critical topics such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), software-defined vehicles (SDVs), electrification, virtual engineering, and AI-driven systems, the event showcased cutting-edge innovations from MathWorks experts and industry partners.

A highlight of the conference was the keynote delivered by Jim Tung, MathWorks Fellow, titled “The Roadmap for Software-Defined Vehicles and Disruptive Technologies.” Tung discussed how model-based approaches are transforming vehicle software development, emphasizing the role of the cloud and generative AI in enhancing cross-company collaboration. He explained how Model-Based Design allows teams to virtually create, test, and refine vehicle systems, ultimately speeding up development processes and improving system reliability.

The conference also hosted panel discussions addressing the role of semiconductors in SDVs, the impact of AI in mobility solutions, and the application of Model-Based Design in SDV development. Leading experts from prominent companies, including KPIT Technologies, Bosch, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Mercedes-Benz R&D India, shared their valuable insights on the future of automotive technology and the key challenges faced by the industry.
