Mastercam Expands CAM Ecosystem with Strategic Acquisitions!

Sandvik has announced that Mastercam has acquired Barefoot CNC, CAD/CAM Solutions, CamTech Engineering Services, and CIMCO’s probing technology and postprocessor business, marking a significant expansion of its CAM ecosystem. These acquisitions are pivotal to Mastercam’s growth strategy, enabling it to extend its reach into new markets across the Southeastern United States.

Barefoot CNC, serving North Carolina and South Carolina for over 30 years, CAD/CAM Solutions, a trusted partner in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, and CamTech Engineering Services in Florida, will all strengthen Mastercam’s presence in these regions. These acquisitions also enhance Mastercam’s ability to provide exceptional support and industry-leading CAD/CAM solutions to manufacturers.

Additionally, CIMCO’s probing technology and postprocessor business, which enables CNC touch probes to measure and locate workpieces before machining, will now be integrated into Mastercam’s offerings. The technology will be rebranded as Mastercam Probing and is expected to help manufacturers improve part quality and reduce setup time.

Russ Bukowski, interim president of Mastercam, stated, “Welcoming the resources of Barefoot CNC, CAD/CAM Solutions, and CamTech Engineering Services into the Mastercam team strengthens our commitment to supporting manufacturers across the Southeastern United States with exceptional support and industry-leading CAD/CAM solutions.”

By integrating CIMCO’s probing technology into the Mastercam suite, the company aims to provide manufacturers with fully integrated solutions, enhancing the seamless experience and ensuring they maintain a competitive edge in a dynamic manufacturing landscape.
