Marposs Corporation, a global leader in measurement, inspection, and test solutions, has acquired a controlling stake in Digital Strategy Innovation (DSI), a Venice, Italy-based startup specialising in applied research in artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and data analysis.
Digital Strategy Innovation, founded in 2020 at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and funded by VeniSIA, the university’s innovation and sustainability accelerator, provides IT consulting services for the integration of digital systems, services, and sensors. It operates as a liaison between academia and industry, collaborating with firms such as Electrolux and Microtec, among others.
The company stated in a statement that its academic operational environment aided in the development of a portfolio that includes the design and integration of sensors used to power machine-learning systems.
The acquisition of Digital Strategy Innovation offers Marposs with a state-of-the-art development environment where it may perfect new ideas in parallel and complementary industries to those in which it already operates. The expertise of DSI’s researchers combined with the experience and global presence of Marposs will enable Marposs to accelerate the development of innovative solutions, particularly in the field of E-Mobility and the enhancement of digital platform and data process services, allowing it to expand its portfolio of advanced technological solutions for clients.
This transaction is a component of Marposs Group’s broader investment strategy to accelerate innovation by acquiring and developing investments in innovative technologies. Since 2000, the firm has acquired close to thirty companies, greatly expanding its technological capabilities and product offerings for existing and new markets, such as machine tools, E-mobility, medical devices, semiconductors, aerospace, and glass, among others.
