MarchantCain Moves to University of Warwick Science Park to Fuel Ambitious Growth into Public Transport Sector

High-precision car component manufacturer MarchantCain Group has relocated to new premises at the University of Warwick Science Park’s Sovereign Court, marking the start of an ambitious growth phase as it expands into new transport sectors beyond the luxury automotive market.

With an established reputation for designing and manufacturing complex moveable vehicle components—including window regulators, wiper systems, and automatic folding mirrors—MarchantCain supplies some of the world’s most prestigious car brands. Now, the Coventry-based company is planning to diversify its offerings to include systems for public transport, such as automatic door controllers for trains and other mass transit vehicles.

Co-founder Rob Marchant explained the strategic move:
“While we have established an excellent foothold with the high-end car market, we know we need to diversify our customer base somewhat as we look to grow further. That market is relatively static given the niche demand for luxury and hypercars. Expanding into other transport sectors such as trains, aircraft, buses, and boats opens up new revenue streams and long-term opportunities for the business.”

MarchantCain’s relocation from Tile Hill to Sovereign Court provides the company with a more suitable workspace for both its office and workshop operations. The move also sets the stage for team expansion beyond its current 14 employees.

Pam Cain, co-founder, added:
“The team at the Science Park have done a great job helping us settle in. The location is highly accessible, and we’re surrounded by a thriving community of like-minded innovators. Sovereign Court provides the right environment to scale up our operations and explore new frontiers in engineering.”

Victoria Lynch, Head of Commercial at the University of Warwick Science Park, welcomed the arrival of MarchantCain:
“It is fantastic to have a company working in cutting-edge automotive design and manufacturing choose to move here. The Science Park already hosts many key players in the automotive and transport sectors, and MarchantCain is a valuable addition to this innovative ecosystem.”

The deal was facilitated by Giles Garbutt, Surveyor in the Science and Technology team at Carter Jonas, the retained agents for the Science Park.
“Sovereign Court is designed to support growth-focused businesses with high-quality office and workshop space. MarchantCain’s move is a perfect example of how our facilities help cutting-edge companies scale and collaborate.”
