Major Recycling Technology Hub in Gujarat Set to Transform Industrial Machinery Testing!

Sunday 14 December 2025, 3:15:07 PM

India-based recycling equipment manufacturer Fornnax Technology has inaugurated a large-scale product development and demonstration centre near Kandla in Gujarat, marking a significant milestone for the global recycling machinery industry. Spread across more than 12 acres, the facility is designed to accelerate the design, testing and validation of shredders, granulators and advanced recycling systems. By creating a controlled, real-world testing environment, Fornnax aims to fast-track innovation and strengthen its global market position as it works toward long-term growth targets through 2030.

At the heart of the new centre is a structured product development framework that brings together market insights, engineering design and rigorous validation under one roof. Instead of relying on prolonged field trials at customer sites, Fornnax now follows a staged review methodology that begins with concept evaluation and design reviews, moves through prototyping and testing, and ends with full production readiness. This approach significantly compresses traditional development timelines, enabling new machines and upgrades to be validated within six to eight months while maintaining high performance and reliability standards.

The facility also plays a critical role in upgrading existing machinery platforms. Enhancements are focused on increasing throughput, improving energy efficiency and minimizing downtime. According to the company, machines tested at the centre are validated to operate for up to 18–20 hours per day, with performance assessed over operating lifecycles ranging from 3,000 to 15,000 hours. These tests closely replicate real recycling conditions, providing confidence in durability, consistency and long-term productivity.

A defining feature of the centre is its customer-facing live testing environment. Recyclers can bring their own material streams to the facility and observe equipment performance firsthand across multiple machines. This open testing model allows customers to compare technologies, review performance data and make informed capital investment decisions based on real-world results rather than theoretical specifications.

Beyond core machinery testing, the centre supports advanced research into emerging recycling applications such as e-waste, cables and lithium-ion batteries. Fornnax’s engineering and R&D teams conduct feasibility studies and customized performance evaluations to develop solutions for complex and unconventional materials. This capability positions the company as a technology partner rather than just an equipment supplier, addressing evolving recycling challenges across multiple waste streams.

Training and skill development are fully integrated into the facility through an on-site OEM training centre. Customers receive hands-on instruction in machine assembly, operation and maintenance before equipment is deployed, improving uptime and operational confidence. The centre also hosts corporate and international training programmes, covering plant optimization, troubleshooting and best maintenance practices.

By combining R&D, customer validation and training within a single ecosystem, Fornnax Technology aims to set new benchmarks for recycling equipment development. The Gujarat hub is expected to support growth in high-demand segments such as tyre, municipal solid waste, e-waste, cable and aluminium recycling, while opening pathways into future applications like auto shredder residue and battery recycling—reshaping how industrial recycling machinery is tested, optimized and deployed worldwide.
