Mahindra Logistics Expands Operations in Eastern India with New Warehousing Space!

Mahindra Logistics Limited, one of India’s leading providers of integrated logistics and supply chain solutions, has expanded its footprint in Eastern India with the launch of two new Grade-A warehousing facilities in Guwahati and Agartala. Together, these facilities add more than 4 lakh square feet of capacity to the company’s network, strengthening its ability to serve a wide range of industries including e-commerce, FMCG, automotive, retail, pharmaceuticals, and groceries.

The expansion is part of Mahindra Logistics’ ‘Go-East’ strategy, aimed at developing a strong logistics backbone across India’s eastern corridor—one of the country’s fastest-growing regions for trade and industry. Backed by major infrastructure developments such as the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor, Bharatmala highway projects, modernization of the Kolkata–Haldia port, and multimodal connectivity initiatives through the Brahmaputra terminals, Eastern India is emerging as a key logistics hub. Improved cross-border connectivity through routes like Maitri Setu and the Akhaura–Agartala rail link has further strengthened the region’s strategic importance for both domestic and international trade.

Through this expansion, Mahindra Logistics has now established more than 1 million square feet of multi-client warehousing space in the eastern region. The company also plans to extend its express logistics network to over 800 pin codes, enabling faster and more reliable deliveries across the Northeast. The initiative is projected to generate over 2,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, with a strong focus on local workforce inclusion and skill development—aligning with the company’s vision of inclusive regional growth.

Hemant Sikka, Managing Director & CEO of Mahindra Logistics, commented on the milestone, stating that with India poised to become a $30 trillion economy by 2047, efficient and scalable logistics systems will be key enablers of this transformation. He added that the new facilities in Guwahati and Agartala reaffirm Mahindra Logistics’ commitment to building a connected and future-ready supply chain ecosystem across the nation, especially in regions with high growth potential.

The Guwahati facility, spread over 3 lakh square feet, now stands as the largest Grade-A multi-client warehouse in Northeast India. Located near NH 17 and in proximity to Guwahati International Airport and Mirza Railway Station, the site offers exceptional connectivity to major industrial zones such as Uparhali, Palasbari, and Rampur. The facility also hosts the region’s first Community Center of Excellence, developed in collaboration with the Logistics Skill Council under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, aimed at fostering skill enhancement and employment opportunities.

The Agartala warehouse, covering 1.3 lakh square feet, is strategically positioned to serve key industrial and consumption centers across Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Manipur. Its proximity to Bangladesh strengthens its potential as a cross-border logistics hub, supporting just-in-time delivery systems and improving access to both domestic and export markets.

With these additions, Mahindra Logistics continues to reinforce its leadership in India’s logistics landscape, combining technology-driven operations, regional expertise, and sustainability-focused infrastructure to build a resilient and efficient logistics network for the future.
