Laser Photonics Laser Cutting System Provides Precision Tolerances!
Laser Photonics Corp. has introduced the STIF-3020 laser cutting system, a standalone and fully enclosed solution designed to deliver high speed and precision for sheet metal processing in high-volume metalworking environments. The system is positioned to support manufacturers seeking tighter tolerances, faster cycle times, and consistent cut quality across a wide range of applications.
The STIF-3020 features a compact, space-efficient design with a 16 ft² work area and a total floor footprint of 57 ft², making it suitable for mid-scale production facilities where shop-floor space is at a premium. Its enclosed configuration enhances operator safety while maintaining stable cutting conditions during operation.
At the heart of the system is a high-power continuous wave fiber laser capable of processing speeds of up to 500 mm/s. Laser Photonics states that the system achieves accuracy of ±0.05 mm/m and repeatability of ±0.03 mm/m, enabling precision tolerances that exceed those typically achievable with alternative cutting technologies. The laser is controlled via a PC-based CNC platform with user-friendly software, simplifying programming and operation.
The STIF-3020 is engineered for coordinated control of the laser beam and assist gases to ensure clean, high-quality cuts. Depending on the material and application, oxygen, nitrogen, or argon is used to expel molten material and dross from the kerf, resulting in smooth edges, reduced oxidation, and minimal post-processing requirements.
Designed primarily for manual loading and unloading, the STIF-3020 can also be customized to suit specific production needs. Optional configurations include automated material handling systems, alternative laser sources, and integrated fume extraction solutions. This flexibility allows manufacturers to tailor the system for evolving production demands while maintaining precision and efficiency.
