KP Group, through its subsidiary KPI Green Hydrogen & Ammonia, has taken a decisive step toward shaping the future of clean energy by signing a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province in South Korea. The agreement, forged in collaboration with GH2 Solar Limited and AHES Co., Ltd., marks a significant milestone in global cooperation for green hydrogen and underscores the group’s ambition to position itself at the forefront of the energy transition.
The partnership sets the foundation for a comprehensive framework that will facilitate technology exchange in critical areas such as water electrolysis and hydrogen production systems. Both Indian and Korean counterparts will collaborate to jointly develop large-scale projects, create new pathways for sustainable hydrogen adoption, and expand the availability of green hydrogen solutions across international markets. This initiative represents not just a business alliance but also a shared vision of reducing global carbon emissions and driving the hydrogen economy at scale.
Highlighting the importance of the collaboration, His Excellency Kim Kwan-young, Governor of Jeonbuk Province, stated, “This agreement merges Jeonbuk’s hydrogen expertise with India’s capital and market reach, offering Korean firms a gateway into global opportunities.” His words reflect the essence of the deal: a synergy where Korea contributes cutting-edge hydrogen technologies while India offers the resources, scalability, and market potential to turn innovation into large-scale deployment.
Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group, echoed this sentiment, remarking, “This partnership is a union of strategic vision and practical execution. By marrying our Korean partners’ technological strengths with India’s market potential and KP Group’s track record in renewables, we’re accelerating the shift toward a sustainable hydrogen economy. It’s fully aligned with our ‘Vision Forward’ and India’s clean energy ambitions.”
With over 6 GW of renewable energy assets under its belt—including solar, wind, and hybrid projects—KP Group has already established itself as a powerhouse in clean energy. The company’s infrastructure, technical expertise, and experience make it well-equipped to diversify into green hydrogen and ammonia production. These emerging sectors are widely regarded as cornerstones of the global decarbonization movement, with applications spanning industrial operations, transportation, and long-term energy storage. By leveraging its renewable backbone, KP Group is prepared to scale up green hydrogen initiatives not only for India’s domestic requirements but also to meet the needs of international markets.
The benefits of this alliance extend beyond technology and energy. For India, it positions KP Group as a global player in hydrogen innovation, strengthens the country’s role in the international energy transition, and creates economic opportunities through new jobs and infrastructure development. For Jeonbuk Province, the partnership provides a launchpad for Korean hydrogen enterprises to tap into overseas markets, while simultaneously boosting local employment, research, and youth engagement in future-focused industries.
This collaboration also ties into India’s broader clean energy goals and the government’s push to establish the nation as a hub for hydrogen production and exports. KP Group’s associate companies—KPI Green Energy, KP Energy, and KP Green Engineering—are expected to play pivotal roles in executing projects born out of this partnership, ensuring that innovation is matched by timely delivery and sustainable outcomes.
In uniting technological strength with renewable infrastructure and market reach, this agreement stands as a symbol of international cooperation driving the clean energy transition. As green hydrogen becomes an increasingly vital component of the world’s decarbonization roadmap, the pact between KP Group and Jeonbuk Province represents a bold step forward in shaping a resilient, low-carbon future.
