Kaynes Semicon Private Limited Partners with AOI Electronics Co, Ltd and Mitsui & Co, Ltd to Boost India’s Semiconductor Capabilities!
Kaynes Semicon Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kaynes Technology India Limited, has announced strategic partnerships with Japan-based AOI Electronics and Mitsui & Co., marking a significant step toward strengthening India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. These collaborations are expected to play a pivotal role in supporting Kaynes Semicon’s upcoming semiconductor operations and advancing India’s ambition to become a globally competitive semiconductor hub.
Under the technology collaboration with AOI Electronics, Kaynes Semicon gains access to advanced expertise in semiconductor back-end manufacturing processes, including advanced packaging, panel-level packaging, and wafer-level redistribution layer (RDL) technologies. AOI Electronics is widely recognised for its capabilities in backend semiconductor solutions, and the partnership positions Kaynes Semicon to deliver world-class, end-to-end turnkey services to global customers across automotive, industrial, consumer electronics, and communication sectors.
Alongside this, Kaynes Semicon has entered into a strategic alliance with Mitsui & Co., a global trading and investment major with operations spanning more than 60 countries. This collaboration focuses on ensuring reliable and long-term access to critical raw materials required for semiconductor manufacturing. These include lead frames, molding compounds, specialty gases, die-attach materials, and semiconductor-grade chemicals. By strengthening sourcing capabilities, the partnership enhances supply chain resilience, reduces exposure to global volatility, and supports stable, scalable operations.
Commenting on the development, Raghu Panicker, Chief Executive Officer of Kaynes Semicon, described the partnerships as a major milestone in building high-value semiconductor capabilities within India. He highlighted that access to cutting-edge technology and a secure materials supply chain is essential for establishing a competitive semiconductor manufacturing facility capable of serving global markets.
