The newly commissioned VMC operates in an integrated robotic setup, where an industrial robot seamlessly performs automated loading and unloading of components. The robot accurately picks raw materials, positions them into fixtures for machining, and removes finished parts post-operation. This automation transforms conventional machining into a more intelligent, efficient, and reliable manufacturing process.

The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of senior global and regional leadership, including Mr. Henning Preis, President & CEO, Kabelschlepp Group; Mr. Jörg Schulz, Vice President – Production, Kabelschlepp Group; and Mr. Srinivas P. Kamisetty, Managing Director, Kabelschlepp India. Their presence underscored the strategic importance of India in Kabelschlepp Group’s global growth roadmap.

The newly installed VMC is a high-precision CNC machine designed for advanced milling, drilling, tapping, and multi-axis machining operations. Featuring a vertical spindle orientation, an automatic tool changer, and an intelligent CNC control system, the machine significantly enhances machining accuracy, repeatability, and operational efficiency. The upgrade is expected to increase overall productivity by 30% while reducing setup and cycle times by 50%, effectively doubling productivity.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Henning Preis highlighted India as a key strategic market and emphasized the company’s commitment to strengthening localized manufacturing while delivering global quality standards through automation and smart manufacturing initiatives. Mr. Srinivas P. Kamisetty added that the investment reflects Kabelschlepp India’s focused approach toward improving manufacturing agility, reducing lead times, enhancing quality consistency, and better serving customers across industries.

The addition of the VMC is expected to drive manufacturing excellence by enabling higher output, tighter tolerances, reduced manual handling, improved workplace safety, minimized material wastage, and consistent multi-operation machining in a single setup. This strategic investment further enhances Kabelschlepp India’s capability to deliver high-performance cable carrier and motion control solutions, particularly for high-volume and precision manufacturing environments.
