The Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA) has appointed Justin Hatfield, president of HECO, as Region 3 Director on its international board — a position that plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the electromechanical service industry. EASA, a globally recognized trade organization, represents over 1,700 electromechanical sales and service firms in nearly 70 countries, offering members engineering resources, technical guidance, and educational programs focused on best practices for rotating equipment and related technologies.
Region 3, one of ten regions worldwide, covers six EASA chapters spanning parts of Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and West Virginia. In his new leadership role, Hatfield will focus on supporting members in the Great Lakes region while contributing to EASA’s broader mission of advancing industry standards and promoting professional development.
Hatfield’s appointment is backed by extensive industry experience and longstanding involvement with EASA. Since January 2017, he has served as chairman of the Emerging Technologies Committee and as a member of the Marketing and Industry Awareness Committee, where he has actively contributed to shaping the association’s innovation strategies and outreach efforts.
His professional journey began in 2004 when he joined HECO, a company founded by his grandfather, Terrell Hatfield. Over the years, Justin worked across multiple departments — from shop and repair operations to marketing, customer service, and management — gaining a comprehensive understanding of the business. In January 2018, he was appointed president, leading the company’s mission to provide top-tier repair, maintenance, and optimization services for industrial electric motors, rotating equipment, and other critical machinery.
Commenting on his new role, Hatfield expressed enthusiasm for serving the electromechanical community: “I’m excited to serve the Great Lakes region and beyond as EASA’s Region 3 Director. This is a great team that works hard to promote continuing education in electromechanical sales and service, ensuring that all members uphold industry standards and provide helpful, knowledgeable service to customers and end users around the world.”
Through this appointment, Hatfield is set to further strengthen the collaboration, technical excellence, and customer-focused service that define EASA’s impact on the global stage. His leadership is expected to play a key role in fostering innovation, supporting workforce development, and ensuring that member companies deliver the highest quality of service in the rapidly evolving electromechanical sector.
