On the occasion of World Manufacturing Day, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd reaffirmed its leadership in responsible manufacturing by achieving major global milestones in safety, sustainability, and process innovation. The company’s commitment to its 5P Strategy — People, Product, Process, Planet, and Profit — continues to drive its mission of creating a safer, greener, and more efficient mobility ecosystem across international markets.
JK Tyre’s manufacturing excellence has received global recognition, reinforcing its position as a benchmark in the tyre industry. Every plant operated by JK Tyre in India and Mexico has earned the coveted Five-Star Safety Rating from the British Safety Council, a distinction awarded only after comprehensive audits and evaluations. This recognition highlights the company’s unwavering focus on workplace safety, employee well-being, and process integrity. Additionally, all facilities have been honoured with the prestigious Sword of Honour, placing JK Tyre among an elite group of global manufacturers that uphold the highest standards of occupational health and safety management.
In addition to safety, JK Tyre has demonstrated exemplary leadership in environmental stewardship. Its Chennai and Mysuru plants have been conferred with the Globe of Honour, a distinction reserved for organizations showcasing outstanding commitment to sustainability and environmental performance. The company has also become the first Indian tyre manufacturer to publish Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for three of its products, representing its Vikrant, Cavendish, and Chennai facilities. These EPDs, verified by independent third-party agencies, provide transparent information about each product’s environmental footprint throughout its lifecycle, enabling customers to make informed and sustainable choices.
JK Tyre’s Chennai plant has further achieved ISCC Plus certification, validating its integration of renewable and recycled materials in production. This certification underscores the company’s efforts to reduce dependency on virgin resources and transition toward a circular manufacturing model that balances performance with planetary care.
Guided by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), JK Tyre has set ambitious climate goals to reduce carbon intensity by 50% by 2030 and achieve complete carbon neutrality by 2050. These targets reflect the company’s deep commitment to aligning with global sustainability frameworks and supporting India’s vision for a low-carbon economy.
Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, expressed pride in these achievements, stating, “Our founding values of safety, sustainability, and care guide every decision we make. The recognition from the British Safety Council and other global institutions is a testament to our dedication to excellence, and our continued responsibility toward people, our planet, and progress.”
Through its comprehensive 5P Strategy, JK Tyre continues to redefine responsible manufacturing by integrating innovation, safety, and sustainability into every aspect of its operations. As the company celebrates these milestones on World Manufacturing Day, it reinforces its long-standing vision — to drive the future of mobility responsibly, ensuring that progress never comes at the cost of people or the planet.
