Creaform, a division of AMETEK, Inc. and a global leader in portable and automated 3D measurement solutions, has unveiled its latest innovation – the MAX Series. This new addition to the acclaimed HandySCAN 3D line-up boasts an expansive scanning area of approximately 1m x 1m, setting a new standard in industrial 3D scanning.
Designed and manufactured in Canada, the MAX Series handheld scanners are engineered to capture precise 3D measurements of large and intricate surfaces. With multiple scanning modes allowing users to prioritize speed or resolution, these portable scanners offer unparalleled versatility, facilitating optimal measurement of parts and assemblies up to 15 meters in size.
Featuring a volumetric accuracy of 0.100 mm + 0.015 mm/m, ISO 17025 accreditation, and compliance with the VDI/VDE 2634 part 3 standard, the MAX Series delivers metrology-grade results. This makes it ideal for quality control, precision part alignment, and demanding reverse engineering tasks in industries such as aerospace, transportation, energy, mining, and heavy industries.
The MAX Series scanners retain Creaform’s renowned dynamic referencing algorithms, ensuring precise 3D scans of objects in various environments, whether in the lab, on the shop floor, or in the field. Setting up the system is a breeze, and the 3D scans seamlessly integrate into any CAD software, streamlining product development, 3D inspection, and reverse engineering processes.
Building upon the success of the HandySCAN 3D line-up, the MAX Series incorporates innovative features that enhance the scanning experience:
Simon Côté, Product Manager at Creaform, expressed excitement about the MAX Series, stating, “Creaform brings impressive measurement capabilities outside of metrology labs, enabling accurate measurement of large and complex surfaces anywhere. The MAX Series fills a crucial gap, providing innovative dimensional measurement solutions for manufacturers worldwide.”
