
Humtown’s Mark Lamoncha Honored as Ohio Small Business Person of the Year 2026!
Mark Lamoncha, President and CEO of Humtown, has been named Ohio’s Small Business Person of the Year for 2026 by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The recognition highlights Lamoncha’s leadership and Humtown’s continued innovation in the foundry sector, particularly in advanced manufacturing technologies.
The award is part of a nationwide recognition program that honours outstanding entrepreneurs from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam. Winners will be celebrated during National Small Business Week, taking place on May 3–4 in Washington, D.C., where one individual will also be named the National Small Business Person of the Year.
Under Lamoncha’s leadership, Humtown has evolved into a global leader in both conventional and 3D-printed sand cores and moulds, supporting the foundry industry with advanced, high-precision solutions. The company, which operates facilities in Boardman and Columbiana, Ohio, has a rich legacy spanning more than six decades. Founded in 1959 as a pattern shop, Humtown has grown into a forward-looking manufacturing enterprise embracing digital technologies and additive manufacturing.
Speaking on the recognition, Lamoncha emphasised the broader role of small businesses in driving economic growth and employment. He noted that small enterprises are central to local economies, creating opportunities and fostering innovation across industries. He also dedicated the award to fellow entrepreneurs who continue to push boundaries and contribute to their communities.
Beyond his role at Humtown, Lamoncha is actively involved in several leadership and advisory positions. His contributions include serving on the Ohio State Board of Education, acting as president of the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition, and participating as a board member of the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association and the Youngstown State University STEM Advisory Board. These roles reflect his commitment not only to business growth but also to workforce development and education.
The recognition of Mark Lamoncha underscores the growing importance of small and medium-sized manufacturers in advancing modern industry.
