Honda will demonstrate the new capabilities of the latest generation of its Honda Autonomous Work Vehicle (AWV) prototype at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023, which will be held in Las Vegas from March 14-18, 2023. Construction entities interested in learning more about testing the rugged off-road platform on their job sites will have the opportunity to do so.
The fully programmable, all-electric Honda AWV utilises the company’s emerging advanced autonomous technology to create a rugged off-road work vehicle intended to support construction-related activities and increase workforce productivity. With the ability to operate autonomously – or manually via remote control – the Honda AWV could provide a variety of services to industries that require autonomous operation or delivery solutions, particularly in situations where workforce constraints make other solutions impractical. Additionally, the company is exploring the development of attachments and tools that could transform the vehicle into a platform suitable for a variety of work environments.
Honda conducted successful field testing of the second-generation Honda AWV at a large-scale solar construction site in the Southwest of the United States. The company is now introducing the third-generation Honda AWV, which features several improvements based on real-world testing.
