Hexagon Acquires Geomagic Suite from 3D Systems to Enhance 3D Modelling and Inspection Solutions!

Hexagon has announced the acquisition of the Geomagic suite of software tools from 3D Systems, marking a strategic expansion of its capabilities in 3D modelling, inspection, and metrology. This suite, which includes industry-leading tools such as Design X, Control X, Freeform, and Wrap, specializes in transforming 3D scan data into high-quality digital models for a range of applications in product manufacturing.

The Geomagic software suite automates the processing of 3D scan data to create history-based parametric CAD models from physical objects. These models can be seamlessly integrated into the product development lifecycle. Additionally, the suite enables:

• Initial freeform design and modifications to existing CAD models.
• Accurate measurement and inspection of parts for quality control during manufacturing.
