Henkel Adhesive Technologies India has unveiled a new, state-of-the-art automotive warehouse in Chakan, Pune, reinforcing its strategic presence in one of India’s largest automotive manufacturing clusters. This custom-built facility is designed to meet the evolving logistics and operational needs of the automotive sector, with a focus on Just-in-Time (JIT) delivery models, enhanced supply chain responsiveness, and customer-centric innovation.
Purpose-built to serve automotive clients, the new warehouse will enable faster turnaround times, improved supplier collaboration, and smoother inventory management. Notably, it is equipped to handle non-standard prototype materials (IDH), backed by SAP-enabled traceability systems. This ensures full visibility into critical product parameters such as batch numbers, production dates, and expiration details, which is essential for maintaining quality and compliance in automotive applications.
The facility is also future-ready, with built-in scalability to support growth and potential plant expansions through 2030, aligning with Henkel’s long-term vision for the Indian automotive industry. As automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers demand greater supply chain precision and flexibility, Henkel’s new warehouse positions the company as a reliable and agile partner in this dynamic environment.
Henkel Adhesive Technologies is the global leader in adhesives, sealants, and functional coatings, serving over 800 industrial segments and more than 100,000 customers worldwide. In India, Henkel has been operational since 1996 and has rapidly expanded its footprint. Today, it runs five manufacturing sites, including the LEED Gold–certified facility in Kurkumbh near Pune, along with multiple innovation centers, application labs, and technical academies.
This latest investment highlights Henkel’s ongoing commitment to supporting India’s automotive growth with localized infrastructure, sustainable solutions, and advanced technology. The Chakan warehouse not only strengthens its operational backbone in the region but also plays a critical role in enabling prototyping innovation and streamlined manufacturing workflows for customers across India’s automotive value chain.
