Grob Systems Inc. will host a technology event in collaboration with industry partners

Grob Systems Inc. has announced that its 5-Axis Live technology event will be held on August 22 at Grob’s North America headquarters and production site in Bluffton, Ohio, in collaboration with 19 industry partners. The event will feature informative presentations as well as real five-axis machining demonstrations that will showcase novel machining strategies for optimising the production of complicated medical, aerospace, and mold/die parts. Grob’s 400,000-square-foot complex, which combines vertically integrated manufacture of machining centres and automation, will be open for tours. The event is free and open to the public, and manufacturing experts are urged to attend.

Aside from live demonstrations on a wide range of Grob machining centres, additional industry partners at 5-Axis Live include pioneers in machining applications, software, cutting tools, automation design and integration, and more. Blaser, Blum, Concepts NREC, Empire Dynamics, Emuge-Franken USA, Fraisa, Heidenhain, Kennametal, Mapal, Open Mind Technologies, Robb-Jack, RotoClear, Sandvik Coromant, Schunk, Seco, Siemens, ThirdWave, Walter, and Zoller are among the manufacturers. Siemens will talk on Sinumerik controls; Open Mind Technologies will present on HyperMill CAM techniques; and Seco, a metal cutting solutions provider, will describe its cutting instruments for medical applications.

Live demonstrations will also be available on a variety of Grob G350 and G550 five-axis universal machining centres, as well as the PSS-T300 tower pallet storage system and GRC robot cell. Grob will also have a customer panel on hand so that attendees may understand firsthand what it’s like to buy a Grob machine. There will also be an opportunity to understand how the Grob Apprenticeship Programme helps to improve manufacturing workforce to meet the skills gap challenge.
