Gentari Rebrands Amplus Solar to Strengthen Clean Energy Presence in India!

Gentari, a prominent player in clean energy solutions, has officially rebranded Amplus Solar, its Commercial & Industrial (C&I)-focused platform, under the Gentari name. This strategic rebranding marks a significant step in consolidating Gentari’s renewable energy operations in India and reflects a unified approach toward delivering clean energy solutions.

Since 2023, Amplus Solar has been a valuable part of the Gentari Group, contributing significantly to the company’s renewable energy portfolio. By bringing Amplus Solar under the Gentari umbrella, this rebranding integrates Amplus Solar’s expertise in C&I with Gentari’s broader utility-scale ambitions, enabling the company to offer more cohesive and scalable energy solutions. Operating under one brand allows Gentari to streamline its functions, strengthen alignment across teams, and more effectively execute its clean energy strategy, both in distributed and utility-scale segments.

Sushil Purohit, CEO of Gentari, emphasized the strategic significance of this rebrand in accelerating the energy transition in India, a key market for Gentari. “This rebrand represents more than just a name change—it marks the next phase of Gentari’s integrated strategy for India. By uniting our capabilities in C&I and utility-scale renewables, we are strengthening our foundation to deliver greater value to our customers,” said Purohit. The unified approach under the Gentari name will allow for more impactful energy solutions, creating a greater combined footprint in India’s evolving energy landscape.

To ensure the seamless transition of Gentari’s operations in India, Sharad Pungalia, the former CEO of Amplus Solar, has been appointed as the new Head of India, Gentari. Sharad brings over 20 years of experience in the Indian energy sector and has been instrumental in the growth and expansion of Amplus Solar, overseeing the development of over 2.4 GW of operational and under-construction distributed energy assets. Under his leadership, Gentari India will integrate operations across its Renewable Energy, Hydrogen, and Green Mobility business lines.

Purohit added, “Sharad’s leadership at Amplus Solar has been instrumental in strengthening Gentari’s position in the renewable energy space. His deep industry experience and proven track record in scaling clean energy solutions position him well to lead our India operations. We are confident that under his guidance, we will continue to unlock significant value for our stakeholders.”

This move aligns with Gentari’s broader vision to drive India’s clean energy transition. By combining Amplus Solar’s C&I capabilities with Gentari’s utility-scale expertise, the company is better positioned to meet the growing demand for clean energy in India. With a strong foundation of leadership and a unified strategy, Gentari is set to make a significant impact on India’s renewable energy market and contribute to the country’s sustainable development goals.

Through the rebranding and leadership shift, Gentari is poised to continue its expansion and play a key role in India’s ambitious energy transition, contributing to the growth of renewable energy, hydrogen, and green mobility solutions in the region.
