Fusion3 Launched F3AFC Multi-Material Add-On for Its 3D Printers!
Fusion3 announced the launch of F3AFC, a new multi-material add-on developed specifically for Fusion3 3D printers. Revealed on January 28, 2026, from Greensboro, North Carolina, the F3AFC system was introduced as an upcoming innovation aimed at enabling more advanced, efficient, and creative multi-material printing without compromising performance or reliability.
With the F3AFC add-on, Fusion3 printers were designed to support printing with up to four different materials or four colors in a single job. Automatic filament changes were handled in the background, allowing users to combine rigid and flexible materials, integrate support materials, or create visually distinct components while keeping workflows simple and uninterrupted.
Fusion3 stated that F3AFC was engineered exclusively for its own printer platform, rather than adapted from generic filament-switching solutions. As a result, the system preserved the printer’s airtight, temperature-controlled chamber throughout operation and retained full use of the build plate with no reduction in printable area. The design also minimized material waste during filament transitions and required only limited additional hardware, helping maintain overall system reliability and ease of servicing.
The company emphasized that F3AFC was developed with production-ready use cases in mind, aligning with Fusion3’s focus on consistency, efficiency, and real-world manufacturing requirements. The add-on was positioned to support applications ranging from functional prototyping to end-use part production, where material performance, dimensional accuracy, and print quality are critical.
