Forney Industries has introduced its new X-Series family of welding machines and plasma cutting systems, expanding its portfolio of portable and versatile metalworking equipment designed for a broad range of fabrication, repair and maintenance applications. The new lineup combines user-friendly operation, multi-process functionality and portable performance to support both professional fabricators and skilled trades working in workshop or field environments.

The X-Series product family includes several welding and cutting solutions engineered to provide flexibility across multiple welding processes while maintaining compact and easy-to-use designs. According to Forney Industries, the new systems are aimed at users seeking dependable performance, simplified controls and enhanced portability without sacrificing power or operational capability.

Among the new additions are two stick/TIG welding machines equipped with the company’s Expert Set hot start technology, which is designed to improve arc starts and overall welding consistency. The first model, the 100 STx, is a 100-amp welding unit featuring a simplified one-knob interface that allows operators to quickly adjust settings and begin welding with minimal setup complexity.

The second model, the 160 STx, is a dual-voltage stick/TIG machine that offers additional flexibility for users working across different power environments. The machine also includes adjustable arc force functionality, enabling operators to fine-tune welding performance based on application requirements and material conditions.

For flux-cored welding applications, Forney Industries has introduced the 125 FCx welding machine, which features a two-knob control interface along with the company’s TruSet technology. TruSet is designed to simplify setup by automatically optimizing welding parameters, helping users achieve more consistent weld quality while reducing adjustment time.

The X-Series lineup also includes the 140 MIGx inverter-based MIG welding machine. Designed for higher-performance welding applications, the unit combines TruSet technology with increased amperage output and extended duty cycles, enabling longer run times and improved productivity during demanding fabrication operations.

For users requiring greater process flexibility, Forney Industries has introduced the 140 MPx multiprocess welding machine. The 140-amp system supports MIG, flux-cored, stick and TIG welding processes within a single machine, allowing operators to switch between welding methods depending on material type, application requirements and project complexity. Multiprocess systems are increasingly popular in fabrication environments where versatility and reduced equipment footprint are important operational considerations.

In addition to welding systems, the X-Series family includes the TruCut plasma cutting system, which converts standard household power into a capable plasma cutting solution. The system offers clean-cut capacity up to one-quarter inch and severance capability up to three-eighths of an inch, making it suitable for light fabrication, maintenance, repair and metalworking applications.

The introduction of the X-Series reflects growing demand for compact, portable and user-friendly welding equipment capable of supporting a wide range of fabrication tasks across industrial, automotive, construction and maintenance sectors. Manufacturers and tradespeople increasingly seek equipment that combines mobility, process flexibility and simplified controls to improve productivity and reduce setup time.

Forney Industries has long been recognized for providing welding and metalworking equipment designed for accessibility and practical shop-floor performance. With the launch of the X-Series family, the company continues to strengthen its offering in the portable welding and cutting equipment market by delivering systems that balance versatility, ease of use and reliable fabrication capability.

As fabrication operations continue evolving toward more flexible and mobile production environments, integrated welding and plasma cutting solutions like the X-Series are expected to play a growing role in supporting efficient and adaptable metalworking operations.
