Festo Celebrates 40 Years in India, Launches Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru!
Festo has marked four decades of operations in India with the inauguration of a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru. The milestone reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to the Indian market while strengthening its global focus on Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing and digital transformation.
The newly inaugurated 71,000-square-foot facility, located near Electronics City, is designed to accommodate up to 600 professionals. The centre will serve as a strategic hub for advanced engineering, digital technologies, software development, data analytics and process excellence. It will support Festo’s global operations by driving innovation, enhancing process optimization and contributing to international R&D initiatives.
The GCC is expected to play a key role in accelerating automation solutions and advancing global research programmes. By leveraging India’s strong engineering talent base, the centre will contribute to the development of intelligent automation systems and digital manufacturing solutions across global markets.
Company leadership emphasized that the expansion aligns with Festo’s broader vision of enabling automation for a sustainable future. The Bengaluru centre will support global collaboration while strengthening engagement with India’s growing technology and industrial ecosystem.
Festo first entered India in 1963 and established its incorporated presence in 1986. Over the past 40 years, the company has grown to employ more than 1,000 professionals in the country, serving approximately 25,000 customers, institutions and industry partners. Its operations span industrial automation, pneumatic and electric drive technologies, and technical education programmes designed to build Industry 4.0 readiness.
The launch of the GCC underscores India’s strategic importance within Festo’s global network. As automation and digital manufacturing continue to evolve, the Bengaluru centre is positioned to strengthen innovation capabilities, expand technical expertise and support the company’s long-term growth across international markets.
