Evonik Partners with 3DChimera to Distribute 3D Printing Powders in the U.S.!

Evonik, a global leader in the development of high-performance 3D-printable polymers, has entered into a partnership with 3DChimera, a leading distributor and expert in the additive manufacturing (AM) sector, to distribute its INFINAM selective laser sintering (SLS) powders in the United States. This collaboration will enable 3DChimera to offer a select range of Evonik’s premium SLS powders, primarily PA12 powders, known for their exceptional qualities in various industrial 3D printing applications.

Evonik’s INFINAM powders are renowned for their high flexibility, excellent temperature resistance, and high stiffness, making them ideal for diverse industrial applications. These powders are designed specifically for powder bed fusion methods, including selective laser sintering (SLS), where materials are selectively fused together using a laser, creating strong, durable parts. In addition to standard PA12 powders, the partnership also includes specialized variants, including a version enhanced with carbon-black, which improves the material’s strength and electrical conductivity.

The agreement between Evonik and 3DChimera is part of Evonik’s strategy to expand its presence in the additive manufacturing space, particularly in North America. By leveraging 3DChimera’s established reputation and local distribution network, the partnership aims to deliver these high-performance materials to a broader customer base, enhancing their additive manufacturing processes.

Under this new agreement, 3DChimera will not only serve as a distributor for the INFINAM powders but also provide customers with technical assistance and application guidance. Their expertise will be crucial in helping manufacturers optimize their use of these advanced materials, ensuring they achieve the highest performance and quality from their 3D-printed parts.

Jeffery Beach, Director of the Long Chain Polyamides team at Evonik’s Americas Region, expressed excitement about the partnership: “This partnership with 3DChimera is part of Evonik’s strategy to expand the reach of solutions in additive manufacturing technology. We’re pleased to collaborate with 3DChimera and are excited about working closely together toward the benefit of all our customers.”

The collaboration with 3DChimera will help Evonik continue to push the boundaries of additive manufacturing, particularly in sectors where precision, durability, and material performance are paramount. The INFINAM series of SLS PA12 powders has already made significant strides in industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical, and consumer electronics, where the demand for high-performance materials is ever-growing.

Evonik’s expertise in polymer chemistry combined with 3DChimera’s deep knowledge of 3D printing technologies is set to deliver even greater innovation. The PA12 powders from Evonik are ideal for creating robust and intricate parts, from prototypes to final production runs, offering excellent mechanical properties that are critical in industries requiring high precision and reliability.

This strategic partnership will have a significant impact on the 3D printing landscape in the United States, particularly for those looking for industrial-grade materials to enhance their additive manufacturing capabilities. With Evonik’s materials now more readily available through 3DChimera, businesses can access the advanced tools and expertise needed to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving world of additive manufacturing.

The collaboration underscores Evonik’s commitment to the sustainability and advancement of 3D printing technologies. By strengthening their distribution network and offering in-depth technical support, the companies aim to address the growing demands of industries seeking to incorporate additive manufacturing into their production lines.

As the demand for high-performance materials continues to rise, this partnership is well-positioned to meet the needs of manufacturers, providing them with not only cutting-edge materials but also the support required to optimize their production processes and deliver innovative products to the market.
