How are they able to run 168 hours a week??
It’s lights out operations and lots of parts for 168 Manufacturing! Thanks to GibbsCAM specialists, Midwest…
Equispheres has entered into a supplier agreement with 3D Systems, enabling the use of Equispheres’ North American-made aluminum powder with 3D Systems’ DMP Flex 350 and DMP Factory 350 additive manufacturing systems. This collaboration will allow 3D Systems’ customers to benefit from Equispheres’ advanced aluminum powder, which enhances printing speeds and quality.
The partnership has demonstrated the potential for significant productivity gains, with testing showing up to 50% improvement in speed and an impressive average density of 99.8%. A build rate of 49.7cc/hr at a 60µm layer thickness was achieved on the DMP Flex 350, making the material ideal for producing lightweight automotive and aerospace components such as brackets, supports, heat exchangers, and passive RF hardware.
Evan Butler-Jones, Vice President of Product and Strategy at Equispheres, expressed excitement about the collaboration, noting that the aluminum powder prints significantly faster than traditional materials, reducing part production time and costs. This efficiency, combined with 3D Systems’ expertise and printing capabilities, will help break through previous limitations related to speed and repeatability.
Marty Johnson, Vice President at 3D Systems, emphasized the value of the agreement, highlighting how Equispheres’ material enables the production of high-quality parts, particularly in demanding industries such as motorsports, aerospace, automotive, and energy.
Equispheres’ aluminum powder is praised for its consistency and mechanical properties, making it a reliable choice for industries requiring precision and repeatability in additive manufacturing. This agreement marks an important step toward pushing the boundaries of production applications.
