Electronics City Industries Association (ELCIA) has announced key leadership changes as it intensifies efforts to strengthen India’s electronics manufacturing and semiconductor ecosystem. The move comes at a time when national focus on deep-technology innovation and semiconductor self-reliance is gaining momentum.

V Sriram Kumar has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of ELCIA. He previously served as President of the association and brings more than three decades of industry experience. A significant part of his career was spent with FANUC India, and he has been associated with ELCIA for over 25 years in various honorary roles. As CEO, Sriram will lead the association’s strategic initiatives, strengthen industry collaboration and build long-term institutional capabilities aligned with India’s manufacturing and semiconductor ambitions.

The leadership transition reflects ELCIA’s evolving role — from industry representation to active ecosystem development. In recent years, the association has launched multiple initiatives aimed at supporting manufacturers, startups and academic institutions.

One of its flagship initiatives is the Electronics Centre of Excellence (e-COE), focused on enabling indigenous sensor development. The programme aims to catalyse intellectual property creation in India while supporting design, development and commercialisation for domestic and global markets.

ELCIA is also advancing talent and innovation infrastructure through the Electronics Skill Development Centre (ESDC) and the ELCIA Tech Hub. The Tech Hub follows a cluster-based model to encourage co-development, rapid prototyping and collaboration among industry players, startups and research institutions.

As part of the transition, Sujaya Shashikiran, Executive Chairperson of Hical Private Limited, has assumed the role of President of ELCIA. She will work alongside the Executive Committee and operational team to provide governance and strategic oversight as the association expands its programmes.

Sriram Kumar stated that ELCIA is entering a phase where focused execution and measurable outcomes are essential. He emphasized the importance of collaborative platforms and partnerships to drive innovation, capability development and sustainable growth. Sujaya Shashikiran highlighted ELCIA’s long-standing role in shaping the Electronics City ecosystem and reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening initiatives that create tangible value for stakeholders.

With its new leadership structure, ELCIA signals its intent to move beyond policy advocacy toward active ecosystem building and long-term capability development within India’s electronics and semiconductor sectors.
