Corvus Robotics Brings Autonomous Inventory Management System to Lights-Out Warehouses!

Corvus Robotics has introduced a new version of its Corvus One system, revolutionizing inventory management in lights-out distribution centers. This drone-powered solution allows fully autonomous inventory checks without the need for additional infrastructure such as reflectors, stickers, or beacons. Supported by an $18 million Series A round led by S2G Ventures and Spero Ventures, Corvus One leverages computer vision and generative AI to navigate both narrow and wide aisles, making it highly adaptable to various warehouse layouts.

The lightweight drones operate at walking speed, using obstacle detection technology to avoid collisions with workers, forklifts, or other robots, ensuring safe operation without disrupting workflows. They also feature advanced barcode scanning, capable of reading barcodes in any orientation, enhancing the accuracy and speed of inventory management. According to Austin Feagins, Senior Director of Solutions at Staci Americas, the ability to perform inventory checks autonomously around the clock has significantly improved efficiency, allowing discrepancies to be corrected during off-shift hours, thereby preventing delays in production and fulfillment.

The Corvus One system promises a range of benefits, including a 10x increase in labor productivity by freeing up staff for more valuable tasks like picking and replenishment. Additionally, the system enhances inventory accuracy, achieving 99.9% precision and optimizing space utilization, freeing up to 10% of total pallet racking space. Corvus One is also designed for easy integration with or without a warehouse management system (WMS), with simple data exports via CSV or XLS files. The system is quick to implement, requiring no Wi-Fi installation and taking less than a week to deploy, making it a highly efficient solution for modern warehouses.

With its cutting-edge technology and flexible integration capabilities, Corvus Robotics is set to transform inventory management by making it more autonomous, accurate, and cost-effective, allowing businesses to optimize their operations seamlessly.
