CERATIZIT Appoints Steve Kuhnle to Drive Defense Sector Growth in the U.S.!
CERATIZIT has announced the promotion of Steve Kuhnle to the role of U.S. Business Development Specialist for Defense, reinforcing its strategic focus on expanding engagement within the security and defense manufacturing sector.
Kuhnle, who previously served as Sales Director for the East Region, brings more than four decades of experience in the cutting tool industry to his new role. His appointment was announced by Troy Wilt, who highlighted Kuhnle’s deep industry knowledge and long-standing contribution to the company as key factors behind the promotion.
In his new position, Kuhnle will focus on identifying opportunities to strengthen CERATIZIT’s presence in the U.S. defense sector. This includes working closely with manufacturers to understand their machining challenges and aligning the company’s advanced cutting tool technologies and materials expertise with the specific requirements of defense applications. His role will also involve developing tailored tooling solutions designed to improve efficiency, precision, and reliability in critical manufacturing processes.
Wilt emphasized that Kuhnle’s combination of technical expertise, institutional knowledge, and familiarity with the defense industry makes him well suited to support customers operating in this highly demanding sector. By leveraging CERATIZIT’s capabilities, Kuhnle is expected to play a key role in helping manufacturers enhance productivity while meeting stringent quality and compliance standards.
Kuhnle expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity, noting that after more than 40 years in the industry, he is motivated to apply his experience to supporting defense manufacturers. He aims to help customers overcome complex production challenges through optimized machining strategies and advanced tooling technologies that ensure consistent performance and operational efficiency.
The appointment also aligns with CERATIZIT’s broader commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions while maintaining strong supply chain security. A key advantage for the company lies in its integration within the U.S.-based Global Tungsten & Powders network, which provides access to the full spectrum of tungsten processing. This includes the production of high-purity ammonium paratungstate, a critical material used in cutting tool manufacturing, ensuring reliability and traceability across the supply chain.
Overall, Kuhnle’s promotion underscores CERATIZIT’s intent to deepen its involvement in the defense manufacturing sector by combining expertise, advanced materials, and customer-centric solutions to meet evolving industry demands.
