Bartlett Group, a leader in industrial services and custom metal fabrication, has announced the establishment of its new Canadian headquarters and manufacturing facility in Sherwood Park, located in Strathcona County, Alberta. This strategic move marks the company’s expansion into the Canadian market, further solidifying its presence in North America.
“We are incredibly excited to become part of Alberta and, more specifically, the Strathcona County area,” said Brandon Munn, Bartlett Group’s COO. After thorough research across Western Canada, Bartlett Group chose Alberta for launching its manufacturing and industrial services, citing strong governmental support and collaboration with indigenous groups.
The new facility is expected to create 100 permanent jobs and 25 temporary construction jobs during the retrofit phase, which is set for completion in November 2024. As operations grow, the company projects staffing levels to reach 150 during peak seasons, similar to the scale of its U.S. operations. The facility will manufacture industrial scaffolding for construction clients across North America, taking advantage of Sherwood Park’s logistics hub for efficient distribution.
Bruce Bartlett, CEO of Bartlett Group, expressed pride in the company’s Alberta venture, emphasizing the long-term goal of creating sustainable jobs in manufacturing and fabrication. “We employ thousands of employees in our U.S. operations, with a few hundred dedicated to our fabrication services. Our goal is to have the same level of success in Canada,” Bartlett stated.
This expansion was made possible with the support of Invest Alberta, who facilitated Bartlett’s connections with local stakeholders, including Building Trades of Alberta, United Brotherhood of Carpenters, and indigenous communities. Strathcona County also played a vital role by helping navigate regulatory processes and connecting the company with the local industrial network. This partnership underscores Alberta’s growing reputation as a hub for industrial innovation and investment, further strengthening the province’s manufacturing and economic landscape.
