Asahi Kasei Receives 2025 TSMC Excellent Performance Award for Advanced Packaging Innovation!
Asahi Kasei has been honoured with the prestigious 2025 TSMC Excellent Performance Award, reinforcing its growing influence in the global semiconductor materials ecosystem. The recognition was presented at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s (TSMC) Supply Chain Management Forum and acknowledges Asahi Kasei’s excellence in technology development and production support for advanced semiconductor packaging materials.
The award specifically recognises Asahi Kasei’s PIMEL™ photosensitive dielectric, a critical material used in advanced semiconductor packaging. As chip designs become more compact, powerful and complex—particularly to support high-performance computing and artificial intelligence workloads—advanced packaging materials like PIMEL™ play an increasingly vital role. The material enables higher-density interconnections and improved performance while maintaining reliability, making it an essential enabler for next-generation semiconductor devices.
TSMC’s recognition highlights not only the technological sophistication of PIMEL™, but also Asahi Kasei’s ability to deliver consistent, high-quality production support at scale. In an industry where supply chain resilience and material reliability are as important as innovation, the award reflects Asahi Kasei’s strong alignment with TSMC’s stringent performance expectations and long-term roadmap.
Commenting on the achievement, Nobuko Uetake, Senior Executive Officer of Asahi Kasei, emphasized that the company’s electronics business—including PIMEL™—is positioned as a core growth priority under Asahi Kasei’s “Trailblaze Together” medium-term management plan for fiscal years 2025 to 2027.
