Arkel Electronic India opens new lift electronics manufacturing plant in Vadodara with ₹1 billion investment!
Arkel Electronic India has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Vadodara with an investment of ₹1 billion, marking a significant step in expanding its production capabilities for elevator control systems and lift electronics. The new plant is expected to strengthen the company’s presence in India’s rapidly growing elevator and vertical mobility market while also supporting global supply chain requirements.
The facility will produce a wide range of lift electronics products, including elevator control panels, drives, emergency rescue devices and safety components. Designed with advanced automation systems and modern testing infrastructure, the plant is intended to ensure consistent product quality and reliability while meeting international safety and performance standards.
Company representatives noted that the investment demonstrates Arkel’s long-term commitment to the Indian market. As urban development and infrastructure expansion continue across the country, the demand for efficient and reliable elevator technologies is increasing steadily. By establishing a modern manufacturing base in India, the company aims to better serve both domestic customers and international markets.
The Vadodara facility has been strategically located in one of Gujarat’s major industrial hubs, allowing Arkel to benefit from strong logistics connectivity and access to a skilled workforce. The plant is expected to generate new employment opportunities in manufacturing, engineering, technical services and quality control. Alongside job creation, the company plans to recruit and train local professionals, contributing to regional skill development and strengthening the local industrial ecosystem.
In addition to production, the facility will function as a center for product localization and innovation. Arkel intends to adapt and develop its lift electronics technologies to meet the specific needs of Indian customers while also supporting export requirements. This approach will allow the company to tailor solutions for different building environments, regulatory requirements and operational conditions.
Senior executives from Arkel Electronic India highlighted that the new plant will improve delivery timelines and enable closer technical collaboration with elevator manufacturers operating across India. Faster access to locally manufactured components will also enhance service support and maintenance capabilities for lift system providers.
The investment also aligns with the Indian government’s Make in India initiative, which encourages global companies to establish manufacturing operations within the country. By expanding local production, Arkel aims to strengthen supply chain resilience while contributing to the growth of India’s manufacturing sector.
India’s elevator and escalator industry is experiencing strong growth, driven by urbanisation, large-scale infrastructure development, smart city projects and rising construction activity in residential and commercial real estate. Arkel’s new manufacturing unit is positioned to support this demand by delivering modern elevator control technologies focused on safety, efficiency and energy performance.
