ArcelorMittal has announced the launch of ArcelorMittal Global Business & Technologies (AMGBT), establishing new Global Capability Centres in Pune and Hyderabad. These facilities are designed to serve as key technology and business service hubs that will support the company’s global operations while strengthening its digital and operational capabilities.

The newly created centres will provide integrated technology services, digital innovation support and business operations management across ArcelorMittal’s worldwide network. Through AMGBT, the company aims to streamline processes, strengthen enterprise-wide digital platforms and improve efficiency across multiple business units operating in Europe and other regions.

The centres will host specialized teams covering several core operational functions including digital technology, IT infrastructure, data analytics, cybersecurity, finance, procurement, human resources and project management. By centralizing these capabilities, ArcelorMittal plans to create a scalable support structure that can accelerate digital transformation initiatives and drive innovation across its global business operations.

The establishment of AMGBT highlights the company’s continued confidence in India’s talent ecosystem and its role as a hub for technology-driven services. ArcelorMittal leadership emphasized that India’s pool of highly skilled professionals, combined with the energy of young technology talent, will play a significant role in advancing the company’s global digital strategy.

In addition to operational support, the centres will also focus on developing Centres of Excellence dedicated to advanced analytics, automation, and technology-driven process optimization. These specialized teams are expected to work on globally scaled projects that contribute directly to improving productivity, operational visibility and decision-making across the organization.

The workspaces in Pune and Hyderabad have been designed with a focus on collaboration, flexibility and employee experience. Modern office layouts, collaborative work zones and technology-enabled environments aim to encourage teamwork and innovation while supporting evolving work models.

The initiative also reflects ArcelorMittal’s commitment to building a strong organizational culture centered on safety, digital security and continuous learning. The company has outlined plans to support employee development through structured training programs, career advancement opportunities and initiatives promoting diversity and inclusion.

According to Lalit Kumar, CEO of AMGBT, the launch of the Global Capability Centres demonstrates ArcelorMittal’s confidence in India’s capabilities and its long-term commitment to building a collaborative and innovation-driven workplace. He noted that the centres will enable teams to create meaningful global impact while contributing to the company’s technology-led transformation.

AMGBT plans to recruit up to 2,000 professionals across technology and business service roles in the coming years. With more than 1,100 employees already onboarded, the new centres are entering a phase of rapid growth and expansion as ArcelorMittal continues to strengthen its global operational infrastructure through India.
