ANCA’s innovative MX7 grinding system revolutionizes tool manufacturing by enabling the production of finished tools directly from blanks in a single setup, including the preparation of the blank itself. This streamlined process helps manufacturers achieve higher efficiency and precision with reduced setup times.
A key feature of the MX7 is the P-axis Arobotech, which supports blanks at the grind point, optimizing the grinding process for various tools with surface finishes of less than 0.2 Ra. The Arobotech system includes pads that can support a wide range of diameters (3 to 10 mm, 10 to 16.5 mm, and 16.5 to 25 mm), all within a single setup, eliminating the need for multiple machine adjustments.
The system features a 3,000-RPM headstock that ensures the tool spins at optimal speeds for precise grinding. With six wheel packs, the MX7 can support the grinding of a wide variety of tool shapes without the need for wheel changes. Depending on the tool’s geometry, grinding can be performed at either the 3 o’clock or 12 o’clock position, offering flexibility and efficiency.
A specially designed hydraulic pump controls the clamping pressure based on diameter, including up/down pressure adjustments, to ensure faster cycle times and enhanced precision. This system is capable of processing tools with diameters ranging from 1 mm to 25.4 mm.
The MX7 grinding system is versatile, capable of handling small- to large-diameter taper ball nose tools, corner radius tools, lollipop cutters, and step tools all in one setup. By reducing cycle times and improving accuracy, it enhances overall productivity. Additionally, the system can accommodate both sized blanks and barstock loading, providing greater flexibility for manufacturers looking to streamline their tool production processes.
