Mitsubishi Materials is expanding its range of ALIMASTER monoblock cutters with new models, designed for very high performance milling of aluminum alloys.
The latest additions to this series are an A3SA / DLC3SA 3-tooth straight end mill and an A3SARB / DLC3SARB 3-tooth toric end mill. Both available uncoated or with the new DLC coating.
The development of the entire Alimaster range has progressed thanks to the optimization of the micro-grain substrate and the latest developments in the geometry of flutes and cutting edges. The combination of these characteristics has proven itself over time and has enabled the Alimaster range to become a benchmark in the highly competitive aluminum alloy machining market.
The DLC coating offers ultimate sticking resistance during high speed machining and is particularly effective even with irregular coolant. In addition, the low coefficient of friction significantly reduces the cutting force when machining aluminum alloys at very high speeds.
The shape of the coolant holes ensures a stable supply of coolant, even after regrinding. Chip evacuation is, in fact, considerably improved in plunging, ramping and grooving to ensure stability and efficiency.
Optimal geometry These two new types of Alimaster feature a variable helix and polished flutes. The geometry of the flutes prevents chattering. Highly polished flutes facilitate chip evacuation during high performance applications. In addition, the center cut has been optimized to provide increased strength and reliability, even when diving.
To complete the features, the new Alimaster cutters offer an innovative geometry which ensures very good surface finishes.
A3SA / DLC3SA straight cutters and A3SARB / DLC3SARB toric cutters are available from Ø12 to Ø25 with a radius of 1.0mm ~ 5.0mm for the latter.
