Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) has inaugurated a new advanced manufacturing facility in Thailand, marking a major expansion of its global backend operations. The upgraded site is designed to enhance supply chain resilience while addressing rising demand across key sectors such as industrial automation, automotive, and digital healthcare.

The facility, operated by Analog Devices Thailand, has been a cornerstone of ADI’s manufacturing network since 2000. With this latest expansion, the site now includes additional cleanroom space and increased production capacity, enabling the company to scale critical backend processes. These include wafer-level processing, chip-scale packaging, and final integrated circuit testing, all of which are essential to delivering high-performance semiconductor solutions.

By incorporating advanced automation and intelligent manufacturing technologies, the facility is expected to significantly improve precision, efficiency, and throughput. For customers across the United States and Asia, this translates into faster delivery timelines and a more reliable supply of components, particularly important in a global market often impacted by disruptions and demand fluctuations.

The expansion is also a key part of ADI’s broader hybrid manufacturing strategy, which balances in-house production capabilities with external foundry and OSAT partnerships. Strengthening its presence in Thailand allows ADI to diversify its geographic footprint, reducing dependency on any single region and enhancing its ability to navigate supply chain challenges.

Speaking on the occasion, Vincent Roche, CEO and Chair of ADI, highlighted the strategic importance of Thailand within the company’s global operations. He noted that the expansion reinforces ADI’s commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality technology to customers worldwide while maintaining operational flexibility and resilience.

Sustainability is a central focus of the new facility. The site has been designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification, setting a new benchmark for environmentally responsible semiconductor manufacturing. It operates entirely on renewable electricity and incorporates advanced water recycling systems, along with real-time environmental monitoring to optimise resource usage.

In a notable industry-first for the region, the Thailand facility is also the first semiconductor manufacturing site in the country to implement low-carbon liquid nitrogen, significantly reducing the carbon footprint associated with testing operations. This initiative reflects ADI’s broader commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices while maintaining high standards of performance and innovation.

Overall, the expansion underscores ADI’s long-term strategy of building a resilient, geographically diversified, and environmentally sustainable manufacturing network, enabling it to meet the evolving needs of global industries in an increasingly digital and connected world.
