ABB has announced a significant $120 million investment to expand its manufacturing operations in the United States, aimed at increasing production capacity for its low voltage electrification products. This expansion is set to meet the growing demand from key industries such as data centers, utilities, and buildings, positioning ABB to support energy transitions and sustainability goals for its U.S. customers.
The investment will include the construction of a new advanced manufacturing facility in Selmer, Tennessee, and the expansion of the existing site in Senatobia, Mississippi. The Selmer facility will receive $80 million in investment, with the new 320,000-square-foot facility slated to increase production capacity by more than 50 percent, creating 50 new jobs. The Senatobia expansion, which is valued at $40 million, will focus on increasing production of advanced low voltage circuit breakers and create 200 additional jobs, expanding the workforce to over 1,000 employees. Both facilities are expected to open by Q4 2026 and Q2 2026, respectively.
ABB’s CEO, Morten Wierod, emphasized the importance of this investment to meet the rising demand for electrification technologies driven by sectors like data centers and utilities, which are essential to North America’s growing energy infrastructure and sustainability needs.
In addition to these initiatives, ABB has already invested over $500 million in its U.S. operations over the last three years, underscoring its commitment to supporting the U.S. market.
