ABB Robotics Sponsors MassRobotics to Accelerate Automation Innovation!

ABB Robotics has announced its sponsorship of MassRobotics, a prominent innovation hub and startup accelerator for robotics in the United States. As part of this collaboration, ABB will donate several of its GoFa 5-kg cobots and provide licenses to its RobotStudio simulation programming software. This sponsorship aims to give emerging robotics companies access to advanced technology, fostering innovation and development in various industries.

MassRobotics, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of robotics companies, offers a collaborative workspace, cutting-edge facilities, and comprehensive support programs. With ABB’s contribution of the GoFa cobots, startups will now have the resources to develop innovative solutions with the support of ABB’s state-of-the-art robot arms and software. By equipping MassRobotics with these advanced cobots, ABB aims to facilitate the creation of impactful solutions that address real-world challenges in industries like manufacturing, healthcare, and logistics.

The GoFa 5-kg cobot is designed for a wide range of applications, including assembly, testing, and material handling. Its safety features allow it to operate directly alongside human workers without the need for barriers or fencing, enhancing flexibility and efficiency in the workspace. GoFa can continuously share its workspace with people, providing a seamless collaboration between human and machine.

“By providing our cobots and software to some of the brightest and most innovative engineers in the United States, we are not only helping startups push the boundaries of what’s possible but also benefiting from the fresh perspectives and groundbreaking ideas that emerge from this dynamic community,” said John Bubnikovich, president of ABB Robotics, US.

Tom Ryden, executive director of MassRobotics, added, “The addition of ABB’s cobots to our facilities will provide our member companies with unparalleled opportunities to experiment, prototype, and refine their robotics solutions. This partnership will undoubtedly accelerate the pace of innovation and help our startups bring their ideas to life.”
