CEVISA’s pioneering dedication to developing a series of high-performance, precision chamfering machines has made a substantial impact on both national and international markets. This venture, initiated around five years ago, has achieved commercial consolidation in 2022 and 2023, driven by the strong demand for the CHP 60G, CHP-60G INV, and CHP 30G machines. According to Jorge Caballé, the company’s manager, “this line of chamfering machines has set us apart in the market and has significantly boosted our business. In 2023, we experienced record-breaking exports and a surge in orders.”

To meet the increasing production demands and fulfill customer requests, CEVISA has undertaken two expansion plans to enhance its industrial capacity and product portfolio. On one hand, they have invested in a CNC lathe with Y axis from the Biscayan company CMZ, equipped with FANUC MT-LINKi, which will be operational this month. This investment will ramp up component production for their machines while reinforcing their commitment to sustainability with an energy efficiency certification. Additionally, CEVISA has initiated the development of their fourth chamfering machine, set to be their largest model yet, surpassing current limits in sheet thickness (150 mm) and chamfer height (100 mm at 8 degrees). Caballé anticipates its market launch in 2024, with plans to showcase it at the upcoming Bilbao biennial following the success of the CHP 30G model at the 2022 exhibition.

CEVISA’s innovation extends to its range of shear finish chamfering machines, notably the ‘Ecrodur’ project supported by the Basque Government’s Hazitek program in 2022 and 2023. In collaboration with Ikankronitek, this project aims to enhance the treatment of the shear milling cutter, with continued efforts in 2024 to achieve prolonged tool life and improved cutting quality through environmentally friendly coatings.

This innovative momentum has translated into a 25% sales growth in 2023, building upon the 30% increase witnessed in 2022. The growth is primarily attributed to international markets, particularly strong performances in the United States, Mexico, and promising progress in other countries such as Brazil, China, France, Turkey, the Netherlands, and Denmark. Notably, CEVISA recently delivered five special chamfering machines for an offshore project in Spain, although domestic sales saw a 15% decline. Nonetheless, the local market displayed exceptional performance in 2022, fueled by the momentum of the Bilbao Machine Tool Biennial. CEVISA’s new generation of machines finds traction among key sectors including offshore, service centers, bridge manufacturers, and companies dealing with complex materials.
