Viega Announces New Plant in Ohio

Viega, the market leader in press technology for metal pipe fittings and valves, will develop a new manufacturing facility in Shalersville, Ohio, roughly 40 miles southeast of Cleveland, for its ProPress and MegaPress products. “This is an exciting time at Viega, as our growth continues to prompt the expansion of our North American footprint,” said Markus Brettschneider, CEO and president of Viega LLC. “This new Ohio facility, along with recent investments in our existing Kansas facility, helps to meet our growing demand and is part of Viega’s plan to increase North American production.” We are excited to expand our footprint in this region of the country to better serve our consumers.”The 80-acre plot in Shalersville and the development of the new factory represent a $200 million investment in Ohio. Viega’s business in the United States is expanding, and the new plant will help meet the rising demand for Viega products. It also meshes with the company’s sustainability aims, which include minimising carbon emissions linked with product imports by manufacturing more items in the United States. The new facility will be carbon neutral from the outset, contributing to the company’s long-term objective of attaining net-zero carbon emissions for all of its plants by 2035.

Viega has announced investments in new equipment for its manufacturing and distribution operation in McPherson, Kansas. Viega also serves its customers and partners through distribution centres in Reno, Nevada and Carlisle, Pennsylvania, with additional North American expansion planned for 2024 and 2025.
