Renault Korea’s Busan plant will manufacture and export pure electric vehicles by 2025

Renault Korea Motors (RKM) has announced a collaboration with Polestar to produce the Polestar 4, a fully electric vehicle, at its Busan factory by the second half of 2025. Polestar, Geely Group, and RKM have agreed to produce Polestar 4 vehicles for the North American and domestic South Korean markets. The Busan plant, which has easy access to exporting ports, employs around 2,000 people and has an annual capacity of 300,000 units.

“Polestar 4 will be the first fully electric vehicle produced in the Busan plant, symbolising the Renault Korea Motors renewal and our ambitious vision for the future,” stated Stephane Deblaise, CEO of Renault Korea Motors. “We are very proud of this new partnership and grateful to the Polestar brand for their trust.” Renault Korea has been focusing on creating high-end electrified D and E-class vehicles for both domestic and international markets since 2022.
