NORD Expands into a New Texas Facility

NORD DRIVESYSTEMS announced a new building in southern Texas with approximately 85,000 square feet of assembly and office space. By the end of June 2023, the building had begun assembling gear units.

NORD DRIVESYSTEMS is a global manufacturer of gear motors and control devices that will surpass $1 billion in revenue for the first time in the company’s history in 2022.
The family-owned German company’s U.S. affiliate is currently based in three locations: Corona, California; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Waunakee, Wisconsin, which also acts as their U.S. corporate headquarters.

The new plant is located in McKinney, Texas, a northeast suburb of Dallas. It will have complete manufacturing, warehousing, quality, service, customer experience, and administrative employees. NORD also intends to start assembling painted units by the end of Q1 2024, once the paint booth is completed.

The factory will be able to generate 200 units every shift when fully operational. “The new plant will allow us to increase gear unit production while also shortening delivery times to end users in the southern region,” Torsten Schultz, President of NORD USA, said.
