L3Harris has completed its acquisition of Aerojet Rocketdyne.

L3Harris Technologies has finalised its acquisition of Aerojet Rocketdyne, becoming the company’s fourth business area.

L3Harris entered a definitive agreement in December 2022 to acquire Aerojet Rocketdyne, emphasising its ability to improve the defence industrial base, increase competition, and expedite innovation for a crucial merchant provider of propulsion systems.”I’m thrilled to welcome more than 5,000 new employees to the L3Harris team today,” stated Christopher E. Kubasik, Chair and CEO of L3Harris. “With national security at the forefront, we’re combining our resources and expertise with Aerojet Rocketdyne’s propulsion and energetics capabilities to ensure that Department of Defence and civil space customers can address critical mission needs globally.”

Ross Niebergall, President of the Aerojet Rocketdyne segment of L3Harris, was also announced. “Our customers demand a competitive environment that produces innovative, agile solutions,” said Niebergall. “We will build on Aerojet Rocketdyne’s strong heritage to improve production and meet those expectations.” The acquisition broadens L3Harris’ portfolio by adding a significant long-cycle backlog and extensive knowledge, enabling prospects in missile defence systems, hypersonics, and advanced rocket engines, among other areas.  Aerojet Rocketdyne will be known as Aerojet Rocketdyne, a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies.
