Eaton invests more than $500 million in North American manufacturing to support electrification, energy transition, and industry digitalization.

Eaton (NYSE: ETN) has announced significant investments in its North American production and operations to meet the rapidly expanding demand for its electrical solutions. To enhance the supply of its solutions for customers in the utility, commercial, healthcare, industrial, and residential markets across North America, the business is increasing manufacturing and strengthening resilience. The majority of these projects are expected to be completed between 2024 and 2025.”In order to accelerate decarbonization and electrification, electrical infrastructure must work harder and smarter.” “At Eaton, we’re all in on the energy transition, and our solutions are critical to reinventing how power is distributed, stored, and consumed,” said Mike Yelton, president of Eaton’s Americas Region, Electrical Sector. “We’re making steady investments for our customers, distributors, and employees to meet growing demand in the Americas, and there will be more to come.”

Investing in Texas and Wisconsin expands U.S. production of critical utility solutions that advance electrification, grid modernization, and energy resiliency. Eaton is expanding its Nacogdoches, Texas, manufacturing facility by 200,000 square feet, more than tripling its size. The project will increase Eaton’s voltage regulator production capacity, allowing utility clients across North America to speed grid modernization and resilience initiatives. To meet the critical supply deficit for these products, Eaton will continue to manufacture single-phase, pole-mount, and pad-mount transformers in Texas. More than 200 skilled manufacturing positions will be created as a result of the expansion.

The development in Texas frees up capacity at Eaton’s largest Wisconsin manufacturing facility in Waukesha, where the company is investing in equipment to enhance the production of three-phase transformers for utility, data centres, and large commercial, and industrial applications. Eaton will continue manufacturing regulators for Wisconsin utility clients, including sophisticated pole and substation voltage regulators. Manufacturing for busway equipment and industry-first EV charging technologies is expanding in South Carolina.

Eaton is ramping up busway production to suit the rapidly expanding demand for this power distribution technology, which is utilised in commercial, industrial, and fleet charging applications. This expansion features Eaton’s EV charging busway, an industry-first innovation that substantially simplifies and accelerates fleet charging infrastructure while avoiding costly infrastructure changes. Eaton has been manufacturing hundreds of thousands of miles of busway in South Carolina for more than 60 years and continues to develop regional manufacturing capability. Increased output in the Americas region benefits circuit protection and metering for households and businesses.

Eaton is expanding its production of circuit breakers and metering for residential and commercial buildings. These investments include increasing capacity and diversifying production across multiple locations in the Americas area to increase customer supply, improve supply chain efficiency, and promote industrial resilience. Manufacturing expansion increases the electricity infrastructure for commercial, industrial, and utility infrastructure developments.

Eaton is increasing its capacity to serve infrastructure projects across industries by growing supplies of critical power distribution equipment. The most recent developments by the company improve its manufacturing facilities for switchgear and switchboards, which serve as the power backbone for customers throughout the Americas. Customers in the data centre, healthcare, and industrial sectors benefit from expanded distribution centres. Eaton is expanding its distribution capacity for power quality and connection solutions. The company recently constructed its largest regional distribution centre in Chicago and is expanding its Dallas distribution facility to service customers in commercial, data centre, industrial, healthcare, and communications.
